2008年、ニューヨーク・ロウワーイーストサイドにオープンしたバイクブティック＜CHARI&CO＞は、
現在ストリートブランドとして多くの支持を受けている。
自転車カルチャーを体現する彼らが作るアイテムや作品には、当然のことながらそのバックボーンが強烈に表現されている。
そして、そこにはアメリカ東海岸への拘りも同時に感じることができる。

そんな彼らが次に仕掛けたのがこの＜new balance＞とのコラボレーションである。
同じく東海岸をバックボーンに持つ＜new balance＞と共に掲げたテーマはニューヨーク。
彼らの思うこのシューズとウェアがあるべきシーンは、混沌とした街の中に根付く自身たちの生活そのものなのだ。

このコレクションを通して、彼らの追及しているリアリティを少しでも届けられれば最高だ。

The CHARI&CO bike boutique opened in 2008 in New York's Lower West Side, and is now a popular street brand.
The items and products created by the brand are an embodiment of bike culture,
and they also include intense expressions of the backbone of their business as a matter of course.
At the same time, there is sense of the East Coast of the United States in their designs as well.

The next project they undertook was this collaboration with New Balance.
New Balance also has its base of operations on the East Coast, and the theme the two companies came up with together was "New York.
" The scenes they picture for these shoes and clothing products are rooted in the lives they themselves live in the chaotic streets.

The ultimate goal of this collection is to share even the slightest glimpse of the reality they are pursuing.

  • 1970年代後半～80年代に数年間だけ稼働していたニューバランスのアイルランド工場で生産された ”MADE IN IRELAND” の幻のサンプルが近年発見され、これを当時のランニングシューズの品番の流れに沿って「520」と命名し、この秋に復刻しました。そのシンプルなデザインの「520」にエンボスレザーやスエードなどの様々な素材を使用し、クレイジーパターンで配しています。
  • These "MADE IN IRELAND" products were made at the New Balance factory in Ireland, which was in operation for just a few years from the mid 1970s to the 1980s, and a sample of these rare items was uncovered recently. Following on the product numbering conventions of the company's running shoes at that time, these have been named "520" and are being revived this fall. The "520" features a simple design and is made from a variety of materials such as embossed leather and suede arranged in crazy patterns.
