Nara Prefecture has been a production area for various thin textiles since ancient times. Under these circumstances, the mosquito net fabric was improved and "dish towels" with carefully selected materials and stitching began to be manufactured. This dish towel was named `` Shirayuki'' because of its ability to absorb water, remove stains quickly, and feel silky smooth compared to conventional products. It maintains a fresh white color for a long time. Due to its time-honored tradition and quality, it is presented every year to the Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple in Nara for the annual body wipe.
