“Outdoor Recreation Archive” Collaboration
A collaboration item between BEAMS and the "Outdoor Recreation Archive," the "world's best outdoor resource center" located in the Utah State University library.
■ Design
This special edition bag features the BEAMS logo in the Outdoor Recreation Archive "ORA" logo design. This is the first item produced as an Outdoor Recreation Archive product officially recognized by Utah State University. The bag itself has a reflective function.
In 2017, the Special Collections & Archives (SCA) at Utah State University Libraries partnered with the Outdoor Product Design and Development (OPDD) program at Utah State University to launch the Outdoor Recreation Archive, an archive of books, catalogs, periodicals, photographs, and documents that document the history of outdoor gear. Their mission is to document the history of people, products, and brands in the outdoor industry through archival books. They work to make these materials widely accessible to the public, including outdoor product design and development students, scholars, enthusiasts, industry (marketing and design, etc.), and others interested in the history of outdoor gear.
