■ Design
BEAMS PLUS has Special order KOVALM, a manufacturer based in Asakusa, Tokyo, to create a pair of thong-type leather sandals. The sandals are packed with attention to detail and materials.

■Details
We requested that the strap that holds the instep be thin. When paired with long pants, the strap on the instep is hidden, giving the design the appearance of a basic thong sandal. Even when the strap is visible, such as when styled with shorts, the narrow strap gives the impression of not being too assertive.
The soles are custom ordered through our own channels from the Italian company Vibram, and use original soles with excellent grip.

■ Material
The shoes are made with Horween Chromexcel leather, a material not used in regular, and are made to Special order for BEAMS PLUS. A top belt craftsman is asked to process the leather so that the corners of the leather that touch the foot are rounded. The surface that touches the foot is also made of surface leather, making the shoes very comfortable to wear.
