Important unknown Japanese ambient works
``Surround'', a fantastic work by Japanese ambient music/new age/environmental music pioneer Hiroshi Yoshimura, has been released for the first time in the world by Temporal Drift, a label known for releasing ``Naked Rally's'' works. Reissue! Misawa Home Research Institute was commissioned to create this piece as the first in a series of soundscapes aimed at creating a "sound interior" as part of the creation of a residential environment, and it was produced around the same time as the masterpiece "Green." This is a piece that makes you want to surrender to the soundscape that slowly and gently unfolds from beginning to end. New liner notes by Hiroyoshi Shiokawa, who produced the original edition, and original commentary by Yoshimura himself are also included in both Japanese and English.
