Kazuto Sasaki has created adorable illustrations of traditional Okinawan items such as GC Gami (shrine jars), karakara, and makai.

Kazuto Sasaki
Born in Tokyo in 1982. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Graphic Design.
As an illustrator and designer, he works mainly on magazines, books, picture books, etc.
Member of the Tokyo Kokeshi Friendship Association, Taketombo Association (Japanese Folk Toy Association), and Tokyo Illustrators Society.
Main picture books include "Body A-I-U-E-O" (Hoikusha), "A Story of the Sea and Land's Bodies" (DOUSIN), "Seasonal Decoration Picture Book" (Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten), and "Narrow (Kodomo no Tomo Younger Edition, June 2023 issue)" (Fukuinkan Shoten).
His books include "Palm-sized Fungi: Japanese Folk Toys" (Futami Shobo) and "Kokeshi Illustrated Book" (Seibundo Shinkosha).
In 2003, BEAMS launched a style that fuses traditional handicrafts, mainly from Japan, with new and old designs collected mainly from Scandinavia, under the theme of "bridging the gap between design and craft." Based on the idea of "less global, more local," the store offers a lifestyle-oriented selection that goes beyond the scope of previous selections, offering not only men's and women's wear collected from all over the country, but also tableware, interior goods, and even food.
