A lightweight and flexible woven storage basket made from natural materials
This rectangular storage basket was woven in a small village about a three-hour drive north from Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
The bark of green bamboo, which is similar to Japanese madake bamboo, is sliced as thin as possible using a knife and then soaked in water while weaving. The way it is shaped from a flat surface into a three-dimensional form is similar to the way suitcases are made from Iwate's Shinotake bamboo.
It is ideal for storing books, DVDs, cloths, clothing accessories, food, etc., and since it has a lid, it can be stored without getting dusty.
The lid can also be used as a storage basket.

*Due to the nature of the material, there may be black spots, cracks, splinters, thorns, etc. Please note that this does not mean the product is defective.
