Born in Iwate Prefecture, dyeing craftsman Odanaka Dyeing Studio, third generation
After training for eight years at the Serizawa Dyeing and Paper Research Institute of Keisuke Serizawa, a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property for "katae-zome," he inherited the family dyeing workshop. He continues to research and create katae-zome, as well as work on product packaging and logo design, book binding and illustrations.
