Born in Tokyo in 1972, he met Masaaki Shibata, a ceramic artist from Tamba-Sasayama, while participating in local cultural activities during his high school days. After graduating from high school, he moved to the United States and studied under Mr. Shibata after graduating from the University of California. In 2002, became independent in Sasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture. He has received many awards, including his first selection at the Kokuten Exhibition in 2005 and his first selection at the Japan Folk Crafts Museum Exhibition in 2007. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2009, and since 2012 he has been producing works in the climbing kiln he built himself.
