Product description
A simple and beautiful form unique to handiwork
The lids from Shussaigama have many fans, not only among folk pottery lovers, but also among those who like Scandinavian design. The simple and soft form like a pot is attractive. This item is recommended for use as storage or as interior decoration.

*As all items are made by hand, there may be slight individual differences in shape, size, texture, and color of each item. The charm of this product is that it is handmade, so please be aware of this before purchasing.

[Precautions when using pottery]
*We recommend sealing the product before using it for the first time (soak it in rice water or flour dissolved in water overnight). Also, please soak it in water before serving the food. It prevents odor and oil from sticking. After washing the utensils, please dry them before storing them.
*We do not recommend using the microwave, oven, or dishwasher.
*Please understand that the glaze may change or cracks may appear (cracks on the glaze surface) as you use it, as this is a unique taste of pottery.

Founded in 1947 in Hikawa-cho, Shimane Prefecture. By seeking guidance from the founders of the Mingei movement, such as Soetsu Yanagi, Shoji Hamada, Bernard Leach, and Kanjiro Kawai, we learned the value of ``healthy beauty'' and ``the beauty that resides in sincere objects,'' which are the teachings of Mingei. To this day, we continue to create pottery for daily life based on this idea. We do not have a kiln owner, and all processes, from preparing the soil to making pottery, are carried out collaboratively. This practical pottery is characterized by its use of locally sourced materials, including the clay, glaze, and firewood used to fire the kiln.
