“BE AT TOKYO”, which started in 2020, is a collaboration between both companies, including BEAMS’ “discernment” and “culture creation” and FlowPlateau’s “implementation ability” and “creative that crosses the real and online worlds”. It started as a project to create a new culture by mutually utilizing the highly original know-how of the two companies.
Since September 2022, abemaTV Co., Ltd. has teamed up with "ABEMA Sumo LIVE," a program that introduces new ways to enjoy sumo and its appeal, to produce official goods for the Japan Sumo Association.
This time, we are releasing the second collaboration with the manga "Bakido" which was well received in January of this year. In conjunction with the November event held in Fukuoka, we will be holding a pop-up shop at "BEAMS Fukuoka".
The extremely popular manga "Baki" series, which has a total circulation of over 85 million copies (as of 2021), is a fighting manga representing Japan by author Keisuke Itagaki. Focusing on the fight between the main character, Hanma Baki, and his father, Hanma Yujiro, the series continues to depict the beauty of the pursuit of strength through the challenge of all kinds of martial artists and martial arts. Since 2018, ``Bakido'', in which Baki and other fighters take on sumo, Japan's oldest and strongest martial art, has been serialized and finally concluded this year.
The pair of sumo pictures depicting characters by ukiyo-e artist Horihiro Mitomoe, which was announced in conjunction with the release of volumes 1 and 2 in 2019, will be displayed inside stations and in newspapers. , which received a great response. Goods designed with the long-awaited work are now on sale. The lineup includes 4 types and 7 types: T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and hand towels.
In conjunction with the pop-up shop, we will also have some of the goods that have been released so far.
