2024.02.21

BEAMS SPORTS BEAMS a brand that creates an opportunity to feel closer to the sports culture developed by BEAMS, is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Kawasaki City, the base of Kawasaki Frontale, a member of the Japan Professional Soccer League (J League). As a design supporter of the Kawasaki Leap Festival, which will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, to commemorate the event, we produced the event's logo, goods, and staff T-shirts.
BEAMS SPORTS' original items include the logo of this event, a total of 4 types of goods, and staff T-shirts, using the three primary colors of light, "red, green, and blue," which are also used in the Kawasaki City brand message, as key colors. Official event goods will be sold at Kawasaki Frontale's web shop "AZZURRO NERO" to make this event even more exciting.
The ``Kawasaki Leap Festival'' is one of the various commemorative projects to ``get to know, get involved with, and love'' Kawasaki. It aims to improve civic pride and create a lively Todoroki Green Space for the future. This is an event held with the aim of creating new ideas. On the day of the event, Kawasaki City's various attractions will be held, including a music live performance by Kawasaki City-related music artists SHISHAMO, Sumika, and Shintaro Tsuneda (Sukima Switch), as well as a match commemorating the city's 100th anniversary by Kawasaki Frontale. A project that you can feel will be implemented.

◼︎Production of logo design for “Kawasaki Leap Festival”

Designer: BEAMS CREATIVE Comment from Tomohiro Takenaka
We created a logo that combines the words "100th anniversary of the city's incorporation" and "leap forward" to give it a festive and dynamic feel. The logo colors use the three primary colors of light, red, green, and blue, which are also used in the Kawasaki City brand message, in order to project an image that embraces the diversity of Kawasaki, which has a variety of charms. In order to express Kawasaki City's desire to "create a lively Todoroki green space for the future," we were conscious of a flowing design that would give a sense of connection to the future. I myself am from and live in Kawasaki, so I hope that Kawasaki will continue to be a city that we can be proud of.

Item direction: Comment from BEAMS Yuichiro Masuko
Kawasaki features a sporty design typical of Kawasaki City, which energizes the region through the power of sports, a "K" with a map of Kawasaki City, and graphics that are an English translation of the song "I Love Kawasaki," a song familiar to Kawasaki residents. We have created a design that incorporates as many iconic parts as possible to create a design that is suitable for celebrating memorable milestones in style. I would be happy if Kawasaki City continues for another 100 or 200 years, and if this item produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary can be enjoyed as a vintage item someday.
