introduction
In the 1990s, when Japanese street culture gained momentum and began to have an influence across the ocean, graffiti writer MOZYSKEY began his work in Tokyo's deepest, sharpest, and most dangerous underground. ROUSOKU is the ultimate form of MOZYSKEY's style, which uses letters and shapes as motifs. His graffiti, which has become almost legendary, was bombed in key locations in Japan as well as Tokyo from the late 1990s to around 2010, and even in New York, London, Mexico City, Taipei, Taiwan, St. Petersburg, Russia, etc.
This is the artist's first photobook, consisting of over 170 photographs capturing candle-lit towns and scenes, and can be considered a record of ROUSOKU's "candlelight" (※) journeys that he undertook in Japan and around the world.
