BEAMS opens the Tom Sachs’ Pop-Up Store at its flagship shop, BEAMS HARAJUKU. Tom Sachs is a popular modern artist known for his sculpture.
The BEAMS Pop-Up Store will complement the Tom Sachs solo exhibition Tea Ceremony at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery. Tom Sachs supervised the interior of the Pop-Up Store and it carries many of his signature touches.
The Pop-Up Store stocks the popular and rarely available “NASA Chair” which Tom Sachs used in the installation of his show NASA SPACE PROGRAM: MARS at PARK AVENUE ARMORY in NY in 2012. BEAMS as the first retailer in the world to collaborate with Tom Sachs and this occasion will be commemorated with a limited number of

How to purchase
- Enter the drawing at BEAMS Harajuku store.
- Entries accepted from 11am, Friday 19th April until 8pm, Sunday 21st April.
- BEAMS Harajuku staff will notify the winners only, by phone by 8pm, Monday 29th April. (Tel: 03-3470-3947)
- Winners must purchase and, pick up in person, between 11am, Wednesday 8th May - 8pm, Tuesday 14th May at BEAMS Harajuku store.
- If unclaimed during the above period, wins will be invalid.

- Before entering, please understand that the whole package is considered to be the art.
* Every chair from Tom Sachs’ archive is unique. Paint strokes and rust conditions may differ on each chair. No selection can be made.
- All winners must visit BEAMS Harajuku to claim their win. Shipping options are not available.
- One entry per person.
- Cancellation of win will not be accepted.
- One of the below valid photo IDs is required to claim your win. Photo copied IDs will not be accepted.

For those who do not possess any of the above, photo ID booklet for the physically disabled or My Number Card will be accepted as an exception. Basic Resident Register cards are not sufficient.
- Multiple entries with the same name will be disqualified, with no exception.
- We cannot answer any questions concerning the draw, winners, or number of items remaining in stock.
- No returns, no exchanges.
- Sale can be declined to participant in or outside of the store if BEAMS deems cheat or abuse to the process are attempted.
- We cannot respond to inquiries concerning the inventory.
- BEAMS CLUB CARD is limited for use to the original card holder.
- BEAMS will not be liable for any altercations among customers.

Tom Sachs

TOM SACHS (b. 1966, New York) is a New York-based sculptor known for his work inspired by icons of modernism and design. Using modest studio materials, Sachs creates parallel universes incorporating semi-functional sculpture, sometimes deployed by the artist and his studio assistants for interactive projects, as in Nutsy’s (2001-3) and Space Program (2007, 2012, 2016-17).
His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; and the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; and the Astrup Fearnley Museet for Moderne Kunst, Oslo among others.
He has had solo exhibitions at the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas (2017-18), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (2016-17), Noguchi Museum, New York (2016), the Brooklyn Museum, New York (2016), the Contemporary Austin, Texas (2015), the Park Avenue Armory, New York (2012), Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT (2009), Gagosian Gallery, Los Angeles (2007), Lever House, New York (2008),Fondazione Prada, Milan (2006), and the Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin (2003), the Bohen Foundation, New York (2002), SITE Santa Fe (1999)among others. His film A Space Program was released by Zeitgeist in 2016, offering viewers a glimpse into the artist’s studio practice, philosophy, and the narrative surrounding his 2012 project with Creative Time at the Park Avenue Armory.
