自分の聴覚を頼りに好みのサウンドを探し、それをもとに音楽を奏でる。シンセサイザーという楽器には、イマジネーションを膨らませる何かが存在します。2005年の誕生以来、たくさんのユニークな電子楽器をリリースしてきた〈Teenage Engineering（ティーンエイジ エンジニアリング）〉。中でも、〈ビームス レコーズ（BEAMS RECORDS）〉で展開しているシンセサイザー『OP-1 field』は、コンパクトなサイズながら、演奏、サンプリング、エディット、さらにはミックスまでできてしまう優れものの機材です。「だから、初心者でも音楽をつくりやすいと思います」と語るのは、ロンドン在住のアーティスト・大森日向子さん。アンビエント・ミュージックを奏でる彼女曰く、「創作意欲を刺激する使い勝手も魅力的」なんだとか。では早速、大森さんにこの機材で1曲演奏してもらいましょう。
There's something about synthesizers—a musical tool that relies on your ears to discover and produce sounds—that ignites the imagination. Since its inception in 2005, “Teenage Engineering” has introduced many unique electronic instruments. Among them, the synthesizer “OP-1 field,” available at BEAMS RECORDS, stands out as a compact yet versatile device capable of playing, sampling, editing, and even mixing. "That's why I believe it's accessible even for beginners to delve into music creation," says London-based artist Hinako Omori. As an ambient musician, she finds the equipment's user-friendly design conducive to creative expression. Let's have Ms. Omori play a piece of music with this gear now.

〈ビームス レコーズ（BEAMS RECORDS）〉にて、受注生産での販売を行っているスピーカーブランド〈タグチ （Taguchi）〉。1981年に創業した老舗メーカーが始めたコンシューマ向けのブランドには、音質のよさはそのままに、インテリアにスッと馴染むスピーカーが揃っています。実に14年ぶりとなる取り扱いを祝し、昨年末には店頭でポップアップを開催し、実際に体感できる機会をつくりましたが、そのよさをもっと知ってもらいたい。そんな気持ちから「イデー（IDÉE）」ディレクターの大島忠智さんを連れて、工場見学へと出かけました。

The consumer-oriented brand, started by a well-established manufacturer founded in 1981, offers a range of speakers that fit easily into your interior while maintaining excellent sound quality. To celebrate the first time in 14 years that Beams has carried the brand, we held a pop-up in our stores at the end of last year, creating an opportunity for customers to actually experience the brand. 来る10月29日（土）、「Rainbow Disco Club（以下、RDC）」のスピンオフイベント『RDC “Sound Horizon”』が川崎のちどり公園で開催されます。それに先駆け、〈BEAMS RECORDS（ビームス レコーズ）〉では、10月8日に1DAYイベントを開催。テラスにDJブースをセッティングし、良質な音楽がとんちゃん通りに響き渡り、多くの人が心地よく身体を揺らせる時間が広がりました。ここでは、「RDC」の成り立ちを踏まえ、今回の『RDC “Sound Horizon”』テーマや内容、イベントでも披露されたプロダクトのデザインについて、主催の「RDC」チームにお話を伺いました。
On Saturday, October 29, "RDC-Sound Horizon", a spin-off event of "Rainbow Disco Club" (hereinafter referred to as "RDC"), will be held at Chidori Park in Kawasaki. Prior to the event, BEAMS RECORDS held a 1-day event on October 8. A DJ booth was set up on the terrace, and quality music echoed through Tonchan Street, creating a comfortable time for many people to sway their bodies. Here, we spoke with the RDC team, the organizers of the event, about the forthcoming "RDC-Sound Horizon"'s theme and content, and the design of the products that were also shown at the 1-day event, based on the origins of the "RDC".

1994年に鎌倉で創業した「カフェ・ヴィヴモン・ディモンシュ（café vivement dimanche）」のポップアップショップが、4月29日（金･祝）から5月8日（日）の10日間、「ビームス レコーズ」で開催されます。カフェムーブメントの先駆けとなった同店の店主、堀内隆志さんは大のブラジル音楽好き。今回のポップアップショップでは、堀内さんが監修した新作7インチが先行販売されるほか、コラボアイテムの発売やコーヒー器具、堀内さんの私物レコードの販売など、盛りだくさんの内容です。この試みと、コーヒーと音楽のお話を聞きに、「ビームス レコーズ」ディレクターの廣瀬と一緒に堀内さんのもとを訪れました。
A pop-up shop of "café vivement dimanche," founded in Kamakura in 1994, will be held at BEAMS RECORDS for 10 days from April 29 (Fri., holiday) to May 8 (Sun.). Takashi Horiuchi, the owner of the cafe, which pioneered the café movement, is a big fan of Brazilian music. At this pop-up shop, a new 7 inch record supervised by Horiuchi will be sold in advance. In addition, other collaborative items, coffee equipment, and Horiuchi's personal records will be sold. We visited Horiuchi with Hirose, director of BEAMS RECORDS to hear about this event, coffee, and music.

AIAIAI(ai-ai-ai) is a Danish headphone manufacturer whose full lineup is sold by BEAMS RECORDS. The "TMA-2" series is particularly popular among professionals, as each part can be arranged in different combinations. We asked Mars89, who is known as one of the users of the series, to talk about his favorite customized product, as well as to try out the latest "TMA-2 Studio Wireless+" and "TMA-2 Move Wireless" to find out the appeal of the products once again.
