Born in 1954 in Yomitan Village, Okinawa Prefecture. Started training at Ishimine Kiln in 1973. In 1992, he opened the Yomitan Yamayaki Kitagama kiln in Zakimi, Yomitan Village with his younger brother Koji Matsuda, Masatoshi Miyagi, and Masamori Yonabaru. Received the Japan Folk Crafts Museum Encouragement Award. In 2013, solo exhibition at St Ives Ceramics (UK). In 2014, after reprinting and making prototypes of Ryukyu Dynasty pottery, we submitted a report on the development of new Okinawan pottery to Okinawa Prefecture. In 2015, he held the Kitagama Exhibition with members at OIST (Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University).
