Goldsmith Matayoshi/Kansee Matayoshi

The history of goldsmithing begins in 1509 during the Ryukyu Dynasty, when craftsmen traveled to what is now China to master goldsmithing techniques as ordered by the Shuri royal government. “Goldwork Matayoshi” is currently being produced by Kenjiro Matayoshi, the seventh generation of the company, using the techniques of the time, such as hair ornaments “Ziefa”, knot rings, and engagement rings from the dynasty era. Products created through the hands of skilled craftsmen have irreplaceable beauty and warmth within them.
