Founded in 1948, one of Japan's leading folk furniture manufacturers based in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. The founder, Sanshiro Ikeda, was an avid Mingei activist and had close friendships with Muneyoshi Yanagi and Bernard Leach, and left behind many masterpieces, including works supervised by them.
