Since its opening over a hundred years ago, Daiseigama has continued to use only climbing kilns for generations. This is Mashiko's largest climbing kiln currently in use. Red pine is used as fuel, and traditional Mashiko glazes such as persimmon glaze, nuka white glaze, black glaze, candy glaze, and nuka celadon glaze are used. We create pottery with the strength and warmth hidden within the original simplicity of Mashiko ware.
