This is the time when people who are busy day and night can be the most themselves. Because you have limited time, you can focus on what you like and what is important to you, you can interact with people you would not normally meet, and your lifestyle will be enriched. A new series of <B:MING by BEAMS> has started, focusing on people who naturally enjoy such ``morning activities''. In the first installment, we caught up with Akira Taneichi, a freelance planner who drives his car with his dog to an empty beach and enjoys surfing.

The moment you row out into the sea with no one else around, it feels great.

Q: Please tell us about the appeal of surfing.

``The friendships I made through surfing are still connected to my work. It's really like being in the ocean naked, so I don't have any clothes on, so it's better than when I meet someone at work. It's not a sport that you can become good at even if you have money, so it's easy to open up to it.It's interesting. Also, if you go to the sea before dawn, there aren't many people around, so you can practice. Surfing at sunrise takes a toll on your physical strength, and to be honest, it's tough until you leave in the morning, but surfing at sunrise is the best. The same goes for the evening, but being able to watch the sun from a special seat is a surfer's privilege. The moment you row out into the sea with no one else around, it feels great.”

Q: Did your style change during that time?

``In the past, I didn't have many days off, so I was obsessed with surfing once. The same waves never come twice, and the number of times you can encounter good waves is limited.Waves are a natural thing, so I used to surf once. But now that I'm free, it's honestly easier to make time, so when the waves are good, I sometimes go four days in a row. That's why I can go in quickly, go home quickly, and work. Now you can enjoy it in a compact way, like doing it.”

Mornings normalize the body clock, and dogs push that switch.

Q: When did you realize that you should surf in the morning?

“It goes without saying, but when I was young and had so much time, I didn’t really think about it.However, as I got busy and started to feel like I didn’t have enough time, I realized the comfort of getting up early and doing activities in the morning haze. I'm sure it's good for both your physical and mental health. In that sense, surfing in the morning may be like a medicine that brings your body clock back to normal. If you live in , you will naturally become far away from the sea unless you are conscious of it.As I said earlier, it is a place that can be reached in the morning.I think that is largely because the roads and the sea are empty. .Also, this guy (my dog Tofu) wakes me up in the morning after all.If I was alone, I would think I'd sleep a little longer, but instead he goes into a mode of ``Take me for a walk'', so the dog turns on the morning activity switch. It might be someone who can push you. ”

Q: Is there a connection between being active in the morning and being healthy?

``When I was in my 20s and 30s, I was healthy even if I ate sweets, drank soda and alcohol every day, and didn't eat well, but that's not the case now. It's the same with food, but I want natural things to be natural. Or rather, I've come to desire it.Organic has been summarized as a trendy word and has the image of being something for highly conscious people, but I've become able to face that kind of thing without forcing myself to do it.But, The reason why I started to think of this as a natural progression was probably due to the fact that surfing allowed me to wake up early on both work days and holidays. What's more, what I put in my mouth in the morning is strange. It's delicious, the vegetables, the water, and the air.''

He seems to be caring, but he's careless, and he's casual but stylish.

Q: Are there any fashion rules?

``It's a little embarrassing to say it, but since I'm in the fashion industry, I have my own fashion rules when surfing.I don't wear dress shirts even when I go to the beach. There are a lot of things, but I was influenced by the style of Harvey, a house DJ who is also a surfer.I thought it was cool to see him casually wearing regular surf shorts and a dress shirt. Then I went to Hawaii. The experience that wearing collared clothes is often convenient has been ingrained in me.Today I'm wearing ``Claudy Cloudy'', which is also a collaboration with `` B:MING by BEAMS''.I'm also a model in the catalogue. This is a brand that I have had the opportunity to appear in and have a deep relationship with. The comfort, silhouette, and coloring that make me feel natural are here. The same goes for dress shirts, but I don't seem to be paying attention to them when I wear them. And vice versa, I feel like I'm paying attention, but I'm not spending it. That sense of balance is what makes me feel most relaxed. This feeling may be especially strong in the morning."
