The third special item produced by video distribution company ABEMA to commemorate the launch of "Grand Sumo LIVE," a broadcast of sumo, Japan's national sport, is an official collaboration with "Baki-Dou," one of the popular manga series Baki, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022.
The strong design, based on the protagonist Baki and the main character Nomi no Sukune from "Baki-dou", is very appealing. We paid careful attention to even the smallest details, such as the vintage-like print with its exquisite unevenness.

"Baki" series
The hugely popular manga series "Baki," with a total circulation of over 85 million copies (as of 2021), is based on the theme of "What is strength?" and revolves around the fierce battles between the protagonist Baki Hanma, the youngest champion of the "Underground Arena" said to be located under the Tokyo Dome, and his father, "the strongest creature on earth," Yujiro Hanma. It is a monumental fighting manga in which Baki fights all kinds of men, including those in karate, judo, boxing, professional wrestling, Shorinji Kempo, and even primitive men, using only his own body. (The latest work in the series, "Baki-dou," is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion.")
To date, a variety of media mix developments have been made, with the anime "Baki: Most Evil Death Row Convicts" arc being distributed worldwide on Netflix in 2018 and "Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament" arc being broadcast on terrestrial TV in 2020. Furthermore, from September 30, 2021, all episodes of the third part of the series, "Hanma Baki," will be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix.
