This necklace is an arrangement of the techniques and designs of metal fittings by Masui Saihon Kanshitsu, which handles the final polishing process of Wajima lacquerware, called "Roiro". The vibrant "Orange" is used as a Beams BEAMS JAPAN Special order color. regular colors include the ephemeral yet graceful "Sakura", the swaying leaves of mountain plants "Wakana", the gentle swaying of "Fuji" in the wind, and the light shining through the cloudy sky of Noto "Sora", which is reminiscent of beautiful Japanese nature.

■About Masui Aya's dry lacquer
This workshop is run by Masui Katsumu, a Wajima lacquerware artist, and his wife. While preserving the traditional techniques of lacquer, they pursue new possibilities for lacquer and create accessories and other items. Experienced craftsmen carefully polish the lacquer with their fingers and palms to bring out a beautiful luster.

What is Roiro?
This is an important process that is close to the final finishing of Wajima lacquerware. The surface is prepared with charcoal, layers of raw lacquer are applied, and the piece is polished by hand many times to create a mirror-like shine.

■ Handling Precautions
- If the product gets dirty with water or dust, wipe it off gently with a soft cloth.
- If you sweat excessively, moisten a soft cloth with lukewarm water and wipe gently.
