Kuniyoshi was extremely well-known among the people of Edo as a cat lover. Many of his works featuring cats have been discovered and are kept as documents in art galleries and museums. One of his most famous works is "Cat's Suzumi." It depicts cats going out to enjoy the cool evening air on a houseboat. The boatman's cat welcomes the geisha cat, and the guest's cat. The geisha cat holds an abalone in its hand, and the title "Cat's Suzumi" is bordered with dried bonito flakes. This work is full of the humor of Kuniyoshi, a cat lover.

Focusing on the artists of the Edo period, when Japanese culture and the arts were further expanding, the exhibition recreates the works of these masters on the canvas of an aloha shirt, reviving in the present day the passion that went into Japan's world-renowned designs.
