The prestigious Chin Jukan Kiln, which originated in Miyama, Kagoshima Prefecture, the sacred land of Satsuma ware, has been continuously passed down for approximately 420 years.
Currently, the 15th generation is upholding the family business, breathing modern life into traditional techniques. Chin Jukan Kiln produces "White Satsuma" and "Black Satsuma." White Satsuma was once made as a gift for the Shimazu clan lord, and is an elegant masterpiece with an ivory-colored surface, delicate "crazing" (crackle glaze), and gorgeous painting.

In the late 19th century, the exquisite craftsmanship of Satsuma ware became known worldwide as "SATSUMA" at the World's Fair, and Chin Jukan Kiln played a key role in elevating Satsuma ware to a global brand. Its artistic merit remains undiminished, deeply moving those who hold it in their hands.

[Regarding the use of pottery and porcelain]
●If you rinse the pan with water before serving food on it, it will be less likely to absorb odors or oil.
After washing the dishes, be sure to dry them thoroughly before storing them.
If you are concerned about stains or odor transfer, one preventative measure is to seal the pores. Put the dishes in a pot with rice water or water mixed with wheat flour or potato starch, and boil over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and leave to cool. After that, rinse lightly and dry thoroughly.
