It is produced in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture, which is famous for its tea production and as one of Japan's leading hot spring areas.

It began around the 5th year of Tensho (1577), and is said to have started full-scale production in the Kanei era (1624-1644), when Nabeshima Naozumi, the lord of the Hasuike domain, invited Korean potters to Mt. Yoshida to fire porcelain. It is said.

Since the pottery made in the Nabeshima clan was known as Arita ware, its name did not become widely known for a long time, but it is a pottery that boasts high technology cultivated over a 400-year history.
