The cut-off sweatshirt from REMI RELIEF features a natural faded finish. It can be worn with a wide range of styles like a T-shirt, making it the perfect piece for spring and summer.

■Details
As a BEAMS PLUS Special order, the neck and cuffs are wrapped in binder and needle-pulled terry cloth (a type of elastic knitting where the needles are pulled out at regular intervals and with regular numbers) is used.

■Size
Basic sizing makes it versatile enough to be worn alone or as an inner layer. The length is short, giving it a neat boxy silhouette. The sleeves are slightly long, just reaching down to the elbow.

■ Material
The yarn used for the fleece sweatshirt fabric is made from organic cotton "waste" grown at Alvarez Farm in New Mexico, just outside El Paso, USA. Grown at an altitude of 300-400m, where the temperature difference between day and night can be as much as 30 degrees, the cotton is characterized by its soft texture and high durability. The firm and resilient yarn is knitted at the very limit of the gauge to create a tightly woven fabric.

[About processing]
The fading seen in vintage clothing occurs when hydrogen in the air reacts with human heat and sweat to bind with the amino acids in the dye, causing hydrolysis and only the dye decaying. REMI RELIEF 's Super Special Vintage Finished process uses the same principle. Traditional direct dyes are used, which are then combined with hydrogen to fade the dye slowly over time. The body of the garment is also damaged to some extent, but unlike processes that use chemicals or bio-based methods to forcibly melt the fabric, the end result is closer to the damage that occurs naturally over time in old clothing.
