Jameszoo is a genius who blends electronic music and jazz to pursue his own unique worldview. He has released another new album from Flying Lotus' label Brainfeeder. Based on the bold theme of separating the composer and performer from the music, he devised a composition centered on a player piano. The composition is then performed by the Dutch chamber and contemporary music group Asko / Schonberg Ensemble, Jameszoo's own band members, and HIIIT percussionist Frank Wienk. Electronic and live sounds are intricately intertwined, creating a dramatic development with a good balance of speed and slowness. It's a wonderful album that is experimental yet has the familiarity that is characteristic of Jameszoo.
