A compilation of labels representing contemporary jazz
Gilles Peterson, a London-based DJ and founder of Brownswood, has carefully selected songs from Chicago's leading label, INTERNATIONAL ANTHEM, which he has previously played on his radio show.
In addition, a compilation album will be released that includes unreleased live recordings from Worldwide FM, the internet radio station founded by Peterson.
In recent years, the label has continued to produce a succession of outstanding artists, including Tom Skinner, who has been in the spotlight as a member of Thom Yorke's band The Smile, renowned guitarist Jeff Parker, leading drummer Makaya McCraven, and veteran Carlos Nino. This reaffirms the label's skill, and the wonderful flow of the track selection and other aspects of his unique curation are also heartwarming.
