A new and creative MPB
The debut album by Fylipe Nunes Araujo, a singer-songwriter from northeastern Brazil, has been released and produced by Bruno Berle, known as a pioneer of lo-fi MPB.
The simple recording, centered around nylon-string guitar and vocals, features traditional local rhythms such as coco, frevo, maracatu, and baian.
The music has a melancholic and psychedelic atmosphere reminiscent of Nick Drake, who he cites as one of his influences.
In addition to familiar melody lines reminiscent of the Beatles, they also incorporate experimental elements such as dissonance, creating exquisite music that incorporates all kinds of elements while maintaining a calm and comfortable feel.
