■ Design
The T-shirt features a James Edson design on the front. BEAMS T has been using T-shirts as a canvas to create a variety of graphics and art for 20 years, and this blank T-shirt was made by them. You can enjoy the texture and color variations of the fabric, or you can print graphics and messages on this plain T-shirt.
■DetailsTo allow for free printing, the shirt is made with a round body and no side seams. There are no seams, making it possible to print across the front and back. In addition, the name tag on the back of the neck is printed with a dragonfly, which is used in printed data, to express the theme of "T-shirts as canvases." By leaving a margin, artists can incorporate their originality into the tag, making this a highly detailed design.
■SizeA loose fit that is moderately loose and suitable for Japanese body types.
■ MaterialThis 7.7oz heavyweight jacket is made from open-end yarn spun from American cotton. It has a slightly stiff texture, but is fluffy and dry to wear, and has excellent sweat absorption and quick-drying properties. JAMES EDSON
James Edson is a British photographer, designer, and skateboarder known for his profound influence on the London skate and art scenes. Born in Sheffield, Edson was a core member of the Palace Wayward Boys Choir (PWBC), a collective that was instrumental in the rise of Palace Skateboards. He is also the founder of the Wayward Gallery, a DIY art space in Hackney that has fostered a vibrant creative community through a variety of exhibitions, video presentations, and cultural events. Edson's photographs, shot primarily on black and white film, capture candid moments of friends and fellow skaters, capturing the raw energy and authenticity of the skateboarding lifestyle. His debut book, Rabbit Hole, will be released in August 2023 and will feature an archive of intimate portraits spanning 25 years. The 146-page hardcover edition features a unique design in which the photographs rotate 45 degrees with each page turn, creating a spiraling visual journey through Edson's memories. The book features a foreword by skater and writer Stuart Hammond and a cover illustration by artist John Knight. Beyond photography, Edson has been active in collaborative projects that bridge skate culture and fashion. Most notably, he partnered with Altamont Apparel to create a t-shirt line featuring documentary-style videos and his own photography, highlighting the synergy between the London and California skate scenes. Through his multifaceted work, James Edson continues to document and influence the intersection of skateboarding, art and design, providing deep insight into the subcultures that shape contemporary urban life.
