Glastonbury Festival is a large-scale outdoor music festival that has been held in Pilton, Somerset, England since 1970. In the summer of 1971, the author was invited to Glastonbury by Nicolas Roeg, a British film director known for films such as ``The Man Who Fell to Earth'' and ``The Red Shadow,'' starring David Bowie. Participated. Director Roeg planned to make a film of the festival, and the author was to take photographs. Director Logue, who shot the video, looked at the author's photo and declared that he had "captured" this moment, but the director himself did not. In the end, the film was shelved and these photographs were lost to time, but with the publication of this book, they have finally been made public.
This book is not so much a collection of photographs of performers such as Hawkwind, Traffic, David Bowie, and Fairport Convention, but rather a collection of photographs taken at the then Glastonbury Fair. It is an intimate portrait of the 12,000 spectators who attended the free event, known as Glastonbury Fayre.
