Tour the homes of some of the most iconic jewelry designers of the 20th century
This is a collection of photographs showcasing the mansion of Elsa Peretti, an Italian jewelry designer and fashion model who has been active for many years since joining Tiffany & Co. as a designer in 1974. The photographs are taken by French photographer Estelle Hanania.
"I look out over a surreal landscape, where the sea and the sky blend together. Elsa's Saracen tower stands tall and majestically amidst a patch of scrub. And in the distance, as far as the eye can see, there are more Saracen towers." - Dominique Nabokov
Enter a magical world. Peretti reinvented jewelry design in the 20th century, and his work continues to be worn by the world's biggest stars today. This book is a journey through the late designer's two magnificent homes. Hanania captures the terracotta splendor of the spaces with his enchanting photographs, shows us the pristine Torre Avoltore, a towering villa in the Tuscan port city of Porto Ercole, and transports us to the majestic Rome where Peretti grew up.
An essay by longtime business collaborator Stefano Palumbo serves as a foreword that centers around Peretti's creative relationship with Italian designer and architect Lorenzo Mongiardino, while photographer Dominique Nabokov closes the book with a brief message recalling his visit to the tower in 2001.
