My Freedamn! was launched jointly by Rintaro Tanaka, a leading vintage fashion researcher, and the Tenprint Group. It is a valuable fashion design resource that serves as a fashion photo collection that is sent to the world.
This final volume in the "My Freedamn!" series focuses on the new wave fashion of the 1980s. It is the largest volume in the series, with 353 pages and 1,013 items featured.
The book covers a wide range of street fashions that were popular in the 1980s, focusing on the punk and new wave fashion from the late 1970s to early 1980s that Rintaro Tanaka experienced as a teenager, as well as sports fashion such as Nike and Adidas, and early hip hop styles.
This is a must-have, voluminous book for vintage fans.
■Author: Rin Tanaka
Born in Yokohama in 1970. At the age of 20, he began writing as the "world's youngest black music writer." After working at a major advertising agency for four years, he moved to San Clemente, California in the spring of 1998. He continues to write while traveling around the US all year round, with the theme of "Deep America." In 2003, he started the self-published "My Freedamn!" series under the label Cycleman Books. Since 2010, he has been organizing the vintage fashion event "Inspiration" in Los Angeles.
