Moomin Arabia
Founded in 1873 in the Arabia district on the outskirts of Helsinki, Arabia is a lifestyle brand that has been a beloved part of Finnish daily life for nearly 150 years. Moomin Arabia, a collaboration with Moomin, is a series that has been running since the 1950s. Since the early 1990s, designer Tove Slotte has been creating collages of illustrations based on Tove Jansson's original drawings. The Moomins teach us the importance of spending time with our friends, celebrating good things, and taking time for ourselves. In 2003, BEAMS launched a style that fuses traditional handicrafts, mainly from Japan, with new and old designs collected mainly from Scandinavia, under the theme of "bridging the gap between design and craft."
