■ Design
A Basque shirt dyed with indigo at Higo Dyeing on Amami Oshima in Kagoshima Prefecture.
An updated silhouette based on the French military Basque shirt.
The distinctive side slits are the highlight.
The design fits in well with work and military styles.
■ Material
A dry-touch jersey material knitted from two strands of No. 24 cotton single yarn.
It is knitted at 18 gauge using a knitting machine with a very tight weave, giving it a unique, taut texture.
This indigo dyed garment becomes more tasteful the more you wear it, as the texture of the fabric and the dye change over time.
*The indigo color is produced using a chemical indigo dyeing process, in which indigo is extracted using chemicals.
*Each item is hand-dyed by a craftsman, so there may be slight individual differences in the way the dyeing comes out. Thank you for your understanding.
*Due to the nature of the dye, the color will fade, so please do not wash it with other items. Also, the color may fade due to friction (especially when wet with sweat or rain). Please be careful when wearing and washing.
