Product description
A new Nambu cast iron kettle that fits into modern life
The new ironkettle "ironkettle S-VK" from iwatemo is a fusion of the traditional Japanese craft of "Nambu ironware" and modern Finnish design.
The design was created by Finnish designer Ville Kokkonen. It features a modern and simple form that blends in with any space, and a long, easy-to-hold vine.
The fine sand texture and matte cashew paint give it a moist and matte texture. The glossiness increases with use, allowing you to enjoy the change in texture.

Capacity is 600ml (up to the line below the inclined part). Compatible with induction heating.

*Please read the instruction manual included with the product and use it correctly.
■Precautions before use
- Before use, please warm up the product in hot water using the following method.
1. Fill the pot with water until it is 80% full and bring it to a boil over low heat if using an induction heater, or low to medium heat if using a gas stove.
② Once boiling, be careful not to let it boil over, heat for about 10 to 15 minutes, then discard the hot water. (Please note that the lid will also become very hot.)
3) Fill the kettle with water again and repeat the above steps 4 to 5 times.

■Precautions for use
* Always keep the inside of the iron kettle dry. Leaving water in it for a long time can cause rust and the water to become cloudy.
*Once the water boils, pour it into the pot and discard the remaining water. After that, remove the lid and let the residual heat dry out the inside of the pot.
*While the iron kettle is still hot, lightly wipe the outside with a tightly wrung cloth to bring out a unique luster.
*When storing, make sure to dry the inside thoroughly and store in a well-ventilated place. The best way to care for your iron kettle is to use it every day if possible.

■ Precautions when heating
[When using on a gas stove] Always use on medium heat or lower to avoid damage to the stove.
[When using with an IH cooking heater or electric heater] Always use low heat as this may result in damage.

・Please be careful not to run the stove empty. Running the stove empty may cause the coating or paint to peel off.
- When removing the lid or pouring out the remaining water, hot steam will rise so be careful not to get burned.
・When using over an open flame, the kettle body, lid, and handle will become very hot, so please be careful not to get burned. (They will not become very hot when using an induction cooking heater.)

iwatemo / Iwatemo
Iwate, a region thriving in manufacturing, including Nambu ironware, has many small workshops and has not had many opportunities to showcase its advanced techniques overseas.
I wanted to spread the greatness of Iwate craftsmanship to more and more people, and that's when I came across Finnish design.
The northern prefecture of Iwate and the northern European prefecture of Finland have very similar climates, geography and people's temperaments.
Both countries experience long, snowy winters, and Iwate has honed its craftsmanship skills as handicrafts during the farming off-season, while Finland has created beautiful designs to make daily life more comfortable.
Iwate's reliable craftsmanship and Finnish sensibility that leads the world of design.
From this collaboration came the birth of a new lifestyle brand called iwatemo.
The designers are Ville Kokkonen and Harri Koskinen, who are world-renowned designers.
In 2003, BEAMS launched a style that fuses traditional handicrafts, mainly from Japan, with new and old designs collected mainly from Scandinavia, under the theme of "bridging the gap between design and craft." Based on the idea of "less global, more local," the store offers a lifestyle-oriented selection that goes beyond the scope of previous selections, offering not only men's and women's wear collected from all over the country, but also tableware, interior goods, and even food.
