Artist. Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1936. Solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1972. Since then, he has exhibited at biennales in Paris, Venice, São Paulo, and other countries, and has held solo exhibitions at museums around the world, including the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Fondation Cartier Museum of Contemporary Art (Paris), and the Russian National Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow).
