This book is a trilogy of anthologies celebrating the 90th anniversary of Akatsuka Fujio's birth this year, selecting masterpieces (or maybe not so great works?!) and fascinating characters and stories from Akatsuka's vast oeuvre, each covering the themes of "Animals," "Children," and "Old Men."
Moreover, there are almost no classic or popular works that everyone knows! It's a bit of a niche collection of famous and questionable characters who are indispensable to the Akatsuka world, and it's a complete collector's edition that will be a fresh experience for the generation that has never read Fujio Akatsuka, and a new discovery for Akatsuka fans who will touch the essence of the Akatsuka world!
[Crazy Animals]
●Are animals cute? Humans are easygoing!●
Fujio Akatsuka draws adorable and lively animal characters. There are probably many people who have never read his work but know Nyarome and Unagiinu! This book is an anthology of Akatsuka's cute characters and stories, from classic to rare characters, all with the theme of "animals". Enjoy the crazy animal land created by Fujio Akatsuka, the king of comedy manga!
[The Terrible Children]
●No thanks to lectures or education! I don't want to become an adult!!●
Fujio Akatsuka's child characters, for better or worse, shatter the stereotype that "children are pure." However, the image of "purity" is merely imposed by adults, and children are essentially children who read other people's moods, are instinctively cunning, and are true to their desires. Akatsuka's child characters are portrayed with a compassionate eye while affirming the saga of children. This book is a collection of stories about Akatsuka's kids, who are frightening yet full of vitality.
[Uncle Anarchy]
●Don't turn your eyes away from us! It's the real punks that are the real uncles!●
Fujio Akatsuka is the king of gag manga, representing the Showa era. Does a gag manga created in an era with completely different values and ethics from today end up being "unfunny"? No! Why is Bakabon's dad, who is unemployed, wears a belly band and headband, and drives without a license, so funny that it transcends time? No matter how much the times change, there is a dangerous humor here that remains unchanged! A borderline (is it already out of line?) anthology of anarchic old men running wild is born in the Reiwa era!
