GENBEI is a long-established beach sandal brand with over 100 years of history. Founded as a tabi (sock) shop in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Genbei began as a tabi craftsman, then a general store, before becoming a beloved beach sandal brand. Their greatest feature is their comfort: the thongs gradually conform to the width and height of your foot, and the soles naturally sink in with your weight, so the more you wear them, the more they will fit your feet perfectly.

Born in 1936 in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from high school, he began working as a designer in Kobe, and moved to Tokyo in 1960, where he gained attention as a graphic designer and illustrator. Later, in 1980, he saw a large-scale Picasso exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and began his full-fledged career as a painter. He uses a variety of techniques and styles to create paintings depicting a wide variety of themes, which are highly acclaimed internationally.
