■Tumbler & FLOWER S
This is an Ikebana class run by Ikebana artist Toru Toru. In 2012, it opened as an Ikebana class and custom flower shop in a quiet residential area in Jingumae, Shibuya Ward. It has been introduced in various media as a place to learn Ikebana that fits into modern living spaces, regardless of whether the flowers are Japanese or Western. The Jingumae store closed in June 2018. It is currently based in Nikaido, Kamakura, where it promotes Ikebana and holds regular lessons. In addition to weekend lessons in Daikanyama, Tokyo, it also holds flower lessons that approach the origins of Japanese views of nature and sensibilities in a 90-year-old Japanese house in Nikaido, Kamakura. It is also flexible in changing its form to help people who are not familiar with Ikebana to learn about its appeal, such as flower arrangements for exhibitions and events, pop-up shops, props for photography, and regular arrangements for cafes and salons.
