In 2002, Harada began producing automata, which are said to have been made in Europe since the 12th century. While attending graduate school in the UK in 2006, he gained experience under Matt Smith, a leading expert on automata, and developed a unique worldview. The appeal of Harada's automata is that they are not only meticulously crafted without cutting any corners, but also full of free ideas and humor born from social aspects, and are a unique form of expression that cannot be followed by others.
