Greg Hunt holds his first art show in Japan at “BEAMS T Harajuku”

Japan's first art show by Greg Hunt, a former pro skater, videographer and photographer who lives in LA, will be held at BEAMS T Harajuku.

Stereo was founded in the 1990s by actor and comedian Jason Lee and artist Chris Pastoras, nicknamed "Dune," bringing together a group of talented riders. As a member of this crew, Hunt appeared in clips such as “A Visual Sound” and left behind some gorgeous footage. In 2000, Hunt became a full-fledged filmmaker and photographer. In addition to directing classic skate videos such as “ie” and “The DC Video,” he has demonstrated his talent in a wide range of areas, from advertisements to music videos for Nike and Patagonia.

This art show will be a rare opportunity, even from a global perspective, to explore Hunt's career as a photographer, who has long cherished photographic expression as something personal. The works on display and for sale provide a glimpse into his work, private life, hobbies, and even the community surrounding him, including images of legendary skaters.
To commemorate the holding of the art show that captures Hunt's career, BEAMS is releasing long sleeve T-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, and hoodies featuring Hunt's works. Additionally, the Japanese version of the documentary ``Ninety-Six Dreams, Two Thousand Memories,'' which examines Hunt's relationship with Jason Dill and was supervised by Jimbocho-based publisher SUPER LABO will be released in advance. . This work, which has a new format, cover, content, and text, is a luxurious compilation that also includes video stills, a handwritten letter that Greg Hunt received from Jason Dill, drawings, etc. This film realistically and clearly records parts of Dill's life, starting with his friend Dill at the height of his career, his travels, daily life, and his recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

Documented over 17 years by filmmaker and photographer Greg Hunt, Ninety-Six Dreams, Two Thousand Memories is an intimate look at iconic skater Jason Dill. This work begins with Dill at the peak of his career as a professional skater, and records his travels, daily life, and recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. “Jason and I were both sponsored skaters in our teens when we met, but we gradually went our separate ways,” Greg recalls of his encounter with Jason Dill. She continued, ``When we reconnected a little later, I was instantly captivated by his transformation. That's when I started photographing him.'' This work is Greg's first full-length photo book, and includes still photos from the video and letters he received from Dill, as well as drawings and photographs by Dill.
