Kousuke Shimizu's solo exhibition "RANDOM CRAZE" will be held at "B GALLERY"

2021.07.06

"B GALLERY" will be holding a solo exhibition "RANDOM CRAZE" by Tokyo-based GRAPHIC DIY ARTIST/ART DIRECTOR Kousuke Shimizu.

Kousuke Shimizu's works, created using a variety of techniques centered on handwork such as collage, silkscreen, illustration, and three-dimensional work, always exist in a unique world where ambivalent elements coexist, full of Kousuke Shimizu's intuitive imagination. Masu.
Driven by playfulness and curiosity, his gaze turns toward the madness of reality and everyday life, and his creations, which contain a sense of discomfort, disturb the preconceived notions that have been internalized in those of us who view his works, creating a unique communication. Let me do it.

As he describes his works as ``creepy but cute,'' they continue to be created through the coexistence of disparate essences such as pop and charming, dark and mysterious, and go beyond the worldview behind the motifs to create works that are comical but still. You can get a glimpse of his world through new characters and objects that give you a sense of some kind of distortion.

Kousuke Shimizu, who has exhibited and announced many works in Tokyo, Osaka, Berlin, etc., and is actively expanding his field of activity with support from the fashion scene and advertising industry both domestically and internationally, will be holding his first solo exhibition in about three years, ``RANDOM''. "CRAZE" will feature illustrations reminiscent of animation, sofas made from original fabrics, lamps made from dismantled and reconstructed stuffed animals and figures, and semi-3D works such as "MASH UP DOLLS." Furthermore, in addition to publishing a 100-page B5-sized collection of works, ``CHAOTIC DISCORD 2,'' PSYCHO WORKS plans to sell original goods from this exhibition.
