"Crafts and Living" BEAMS Creative Director Kojiro Nagumo, Interior Stylist Kanae Ishii, and Branding Director Hisako Namekata will talk from various perspectives about crafts that are closely related to daily life.

2023.05.25

With trends such as the reappraisal of folk crafts, it is no exaggeration to say that in recent years, it is no exaggeration to say that the lifestyle that incorporates Japanese crafts has become the standard. The vessels and tools used in our daily lives continue to flexibly change in response to the times and environments, even in lifestyles that are different from when they were created, bringing richness to our daily lives today. I did.
As more and more attention is being paid to the safety and deliciousness of food, such as organic and sustainable food, there is a natural need for the materials and design of the surrounding vessels and furniture to be discussed in a craft context.
During the talk, three people with different positions and expertise talked about their experiences and knowledge, and while thinking about the style of Jiro Shirasu, Masako, and their families who once lived here at "Buaisou", they also reflected on the style of Jiro Shirasu, Masako, and their families, and what will happen in the future. I would like to find hints for thinking about what a high-quality life means in this era.
At the venue, Teruhiko Saito, who opened the natural wine bar ``Ahiru Store'' in Tomigaya in 2008, will serve drinks to everyone listening to the talk.
