Special collaboration items between Nasu Animal Kingdom and BEAMS mini will be released on Friday, October 31st!

2025.10.17

A special collaboration between BEAMS mini and Nasu Animal Kingdom, a popular facility in Nasu Highlands, Tochigi, where you can interact with animals in the vast natural surroundings, has been realized. Items perfect for the autumn outing season will be on sale from Friday, October 31st.

With the theme of "getting closer to animals and nature and expanding learning," the popular animals at Nasu Animal Kingdom are depicted in the adorable designs that are unique to BEAMS mini through a variety of items, including sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, socks, and eco-bags. The long-sleeved T-shirts incorporate animal ecology and trivia, making them fun for children to learn.

To celebrate the launch of this collaboration, BEAMS OUTLET Nasu and BEAMS OUTLET Iruma will be creating special spaces in their stores themed around Nasu Animal Kingdom. They will also be holding limited-time snow globe-making workshops.

Please take this opportunity to enjoy the world of Nasu Animal Kingdom.

Let's take a look at the secrets of animals!

Pallas's cat

[Classification] Carnivora, Felidae
[Body length/weight] Maximum length: approx. 40-60cm, weight: approx. 3.5-6.5kg
[Distribution area] Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, etc.

  • The world's oldest cat

It means "little wildcat" in Mongolian and is said to be the oldest cat in the world.

  • Extra thick fur

Their entire body is covered in very thick fur to keep them warm in the snow and on the frozen ground. This fur is important for surviving in cold regions.

  • Hunter in the Shadows

Their eyes are positioned high to spot enemies and prey, allowing them to look around from the top of the rocks where they are hiding.

Rock ptarmigan

[Classification] Galliformes, Ptarmigan family
Body length: Approximately 35 cm
[Distribution area] Alpine zone in central Honshu

  • Metamorphosis Bird

They moult three times a year, changing from a brown mottled pattern in summer to a black pattern in males and a yellow mottled pattern in females in spring and summer. In autumn, both males and females change to a grayish-brown mottled pattern.

  • Divine Bird

Since it has been revered as a "divine bird" in Japanese mountain worship, it is said to have had little fear of humans since ancient times.

  • Natural snowshoes

Their toes are covered in feathers, and their toes spread wide to act as snowshoes to prevent them from getting buried in the snow.

Tsushima wildcat

[Classification] Carnivora, Felidae
[Body length/weight] Maximum 80cm, maximum 5kg
[Distribution area] Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture

  • Tiger of Tsushima

This rare member of the cat family is said to be one of the most endangered species, found only on Tsushima Island in Nagasaki Prefecture. It is affectionately known locally as "Toraneko."

  • Tiger ear pattern

There are white spots on the underside of the ears, called "tiger ears," which serve as a landmark for kittens to follow their mothers.

  • Soft feet

Their legs are thick and short, but their paws are soft! This helps them muffle the sound of their footsteps when hunting.

Arctic wolf

[Classification] Carnivora, Canidae
[Body length/weight] Approximately 90-120cm, approximately 45-80kg
[Distribution area] Greenland, northern Canada

  • White Hunter

They live in Greenland and northern Canada and are characterized by their pure white fur that blends in with the snowy scenery.

  • Cooperative hunting

They live in small family groups and work together to hunt large prey such as musk oxen and caribou.

  • Reason for howling

Their famous howls are an important form of communication, allowing them to contact fellow birds far away and to mark their territory.

  • Appearance characteristics

They are also characterized by their tall body and shorter ears and noses than regular wolves.

American Beaver

[Classification] Rodentia, Beaveridae
[Body length/weight] Approximately 65cm-70cm, approximately 10-25kg

They use their large teeth to cut down trees, then use the wood, deadwood, and mud to build dams and nests near water. They are clever builders whose constructions are passed down through generations.

  • Water-resistant body

Their velvety fur repels water, their hind feet are webbed, and their large, flat tail acts as a rudder in the water.

  • large rat

They are one of the larger rodent species (Rodentia).
