STUDIO NICHOLSON x BEAMS PLUS release their first capsule collection

BEAMS PLUS, whose concept is "genuine men's clothing that can be worn for many years and never gets boring," has teamed up with STUDIO NICHOLSON, a British brand that creates minimalist and functional wardrobes based on the selection of high-quality fabrics, to announce their first collaboration.

Founded in 2010 in Shoreditch, London, a hip young neighborhood, STUDIO NICHOLSON has been creating beautiful, modern takes on everyday clothing and pursuing the modular wardrobe since its inception.
Nick Wakeman, founder and creative director of STUDIO NICHOLSON, and Hideki Mizobata, head of BEAMS PLUS, were inspired by their shared love of film characters and began their creative endeavors. The pair created mood boards inspired by iconic characters from American films of the 1960s and 1970s, including Columbo, George Peppard, who co-starred with Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Diane Keaton's Annie Hall. Based on the theme of "lessons from the silver screen," the collection expresses the scenes beyond the clothing and the pure protagonists who inhabit them.
STUDIO NICHOLSON 's refined approach to modern classics and tailoring, based on uncompromising material selection, is combined with BEAMS PLUS 's heritage and meticulous attention to Japanese craftsmanship to create a "Made in Japan" capsule collection of 21 items, packed with signature silhouettes and world-class textiles.

The water-repellent gabardine twill trench coat "PETER" highlights STUDIO NICHOLSON 's signature silhouette with maximized volume, and the check pattern peeking through from the back is an iconic design language of BEAMS PLUS 's Ivy League elements.

The PAUL sports blazer and ALVY double-pleated pants set are available in two styles: ultra-high-density tropical wool and supple corduroy. The purposefully loose-fitting pants are also available in a firm, durable cotton twill.
Other items on display include the "LISA" shirt, which has a relaxed feel and features intentionally exaggerated cuts and oversized details; the "HOLLY" wide-leg denim pants, which are slowly woven on a custom-made shuttle loom in Okayama, a denim-producing region; and the "GOLIGHTLY" classic athletic crew neck, which is given a modern interpretation in extremely soft cotton loopback fabric.The collection is packed with exquisite items that are too numerous to list in terms of fabric, silhouette, and design.

The collaborative collection, which reflects the love and romance for clothing of STUDIO NICHOLSON and BEAMS PLUS, will be available at STUDIO NICHOLSON in the UK from Thursday, September 18th. In Japan, it will be available at BEAMS PLUS Marunouchi, BEAMS ONLINE SHOP, and at STUDIO NICHOLSON stores in Japan from Friday, September 19th.
