“TOMOKO YAMAGUCHI × BEAMS BOY mini exhibition” held
2018.04.06

Tomoko Yamaguchi is an artist who continues to draw images of women with an impressive clear sense of transparency, as well as motifs of nature and everyday life. The ephemeral expressions and gestures of the girls she creates have a universal charm that instantly leaves a lasting impression on the heart, and continues to fascinate many fans.
This time, special items based on archive works will be on sale at BEAMS Women Shibuya. For her, her work is like a letter addressed to someone, so she creates posters, postcards, and letter sets with designs based on the keyword "letter." Additionally, we will be holding a mini-exhibition of archived works.
In addition, T-shirts and tote bags in collaboration with BEAMS BOY BEAMS BOY which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, will also be released.
Please come to BEAMS Women Shibuya to experience Tomoko Yamaguchi's worldview.

Collaboration Items
T-shirt ¥5,800+tax, tote bag ¥3,800+tax
long letter to you
Guided by the feeling of wanting to convey something
write letters or draw pictures
You can also “tell” a lot of people on SNS,
You can also ``tell'' someone in a letter,
I wish I could choose words just as carefully and without frills.
For this collaboration, I wanted to create something that connects with my own works and production. For the T-shirts, I added a frame with the same colors as the canvas edges to give the impression of wearing a painting, and for the posters, I turned them sideways and designed them to look like letters. I came across a technique called letterpress printing, which is similar to the handiwork of a craftsman, and added a tactile feel to the paintings that would otherwise not be touched at the exhibition.
I would be very happy if you could pick up the items that I made with a lot of my feelings of ``I want to convey'' and feel like ``I want to convey that'' to someone else.
I hope your small voice will be heard.
