Pink Ribbon Campaign to promote understanding and breast awareness about breast cancer

BEAMS will be running a pink ribbon campaign for one month from October 1st (Friday) to October 31st (Sunday), 2021, to promote “breast awareness” to understand breast cancer and make self-checks a habit.

It is said that approximately 1 in 9 Japanese women will develop breast cancer (*1).

I hope that as many women as possible who work hard every day and their families will be happy forever. With this hope in mind, we will continue this year to create an opportunity to properly understand and be aware of breast cancer.Self-check guides are posted in women's fitting rooms at 138 stores (*2) in Japan. We will suggest a simple self-check method that you can do in front of the mirror using the few minutes you have when trying on clothes.

Also,At the 138 stores listed above, excluding BEAMS ONLINE SHOP, we will be giving away bath salts with self-check tips to customers who request them.Self-checking will be easier if you use soap or body wash to make your hands slippery before touching your chest or armpits during bath time. We hope that this will be an opportunity for women to get into the habit of ``breast awareness,'' and for men, it will be an opportunity to encourage the women around them to self-examine themselves.

This year, we interviewed two women who have experienced breast cancer, and received valuable advice about what they wanted to convey through their own experiences and the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer.

BEAMS aims to convey understanding of breast cancer and the importance of "breast awareness" to as many customers as possible, and supports those living with breast cancer.

Gently touch the entire breast with 3 to 4 fingers, making a 10-yen dime-sized shape.
Pay particular attention to the outer upper part of the breast.
