Special order tote bag was created by the Mito Toshihiro Katazome Studio, which preserves the beauty of "katazome," a traditional Japanese dyeing technique.
Mr. Mito specially created stencil-dyed designs featuring motifs representing Miyagi Prefecture—"Tanabata," "Kokeshi dolls," and "cranes"—and these designs have been printed onto canvas. The warm texture characteristic of traditional stencil dyeing, combined with eye-catching, vibrant, and modern colors, is its charm. The beautiful designs stand out against the sturdy material, creating a design that captures the essence of Miyagi. It's recommended not only for daily use but also as a gift.

Toshihiro Mito
After studying at Kuwasawa Design Institute, he apprenticed under dyer Keisuke Serizawa. He runs the "Mito Toshihiro Katazome Studio" in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, where he creates his works.
