A candle holder made using Oya stone, a special tuff that can only be found in Otani Town, Tochigi Prefecture. A simple design made from processed Oya stone with a hole for candles. This is a special specification with a scratch-proof cork floor on the back and the < BEAMS JAPAN > logo. Oya stone also contains a large amount of zeolite and has excellent moisture absorption and deodorizing properties.

What is Oya stone?
Pumice tuff stone mined in the area around Otani Town in Tochigi Prefecture. Because it is soft and easy to process, it has been used for a wide range of purposes as a building material for external walls and storehouses. Compared to other stones, it is characterized by its warmth, softness, and beautiful texture that gives a sense of warmth, and is sometimes used in high-end buildings.

【Notes】
・Oya stone is softer than other stones, so please handle it with care.
- Discoloration and miso (brown spots) due to aging. Organic matter such as clay minerals and wood fragments crumbles, and stone dust is produced.
・If you are concerned about the miso crumbling, please wipe it gently with a wet towel.
- Gently scrub away dirt with a scrubbing brush or an old toothbrush.
・Each piece is made by hand. Please forgive slight imperfections and dimensional errors.
・As it is a natural stone, there may be slight variations in the size and pattern of the stones.
